General Questions on Using Online Form

Q1: What are the operation hours for the online forms? Can I submit an application to the Land Registry on public holidays?
A: The online forms are generally available 24 hours daily, including public holidays. Download, input and/or submission of forms can be made around the clock.
Q2: How can I know that the online application procedure is completed?
A: Upon submission of an online application, an acknowledgment page with a unique application reference number will be shown on your screen which will facilitate future communication with the Land Registry regarding the application.  You may also opt to receive an acknowledge email in the course of application.
Q3: Can I amend the application particulars or provide supplementary information after submission of an online form?
A: After submission of an online form, no amendment to the particulars can be made online.  Any request for amendments can only be made in writing to the Land Registry. You may call our Customer Service Hotline (3105 0000) or write to us via email address specified in the application. Please quote the application reference number to arrange for necessary amendment and /or provision of supplementary information.
Q4: How can I make enquiries after submission of an online form?
A: You may call our Customer Service Hotline (3105 0000) or write to us via the email address specified in the application form. Please quote the application reference number when you are making any enquiries.
Q5: How can I pay the fees for application submitted electronically?
A: We accept online payment by e-Cheque, credit card (JCB, MasterCard, VISA, UnionPay) or PPS for e-submission of service applications by Online Forms in the desktop version. As for the mobile version, we accept payment by e-Cheque, credit card (JCB, MasterCard, VISA, UnionPay), Apple Pay or Google Pay (MasterCard and VISA only).
Q6: Can I submit an application via mobile devices?
A:

Yes.  The online form will adjust to the screen size of your mobile device.  You can complete and submit the form on your mobile device with supported web browsers.

 The online forms can be viewed using common web browsers such as Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge,  Mozilla Firefox and Opera.

 (Note: The Land Registry does not endorse specific web browsers or recommend one browser over another. While some popular browsers are included here, mentioning of a specific browser does not imply any endorsement or recommendation.)

Q7: Is online application the only option for making application for services/products of the Land Registry? Is paper application also accepted?
A: Making application by online form is an alternative to the conventional mode of submitting an application form by post or in person. The use of online form is not mandatory. Paper application form delivered in person or by post is still accepted by the Land Registry.
Q8: Can I save the inputted data to my computer/mobile device and retrieve the form for completion at a later time?
A:

Yes, you can save the inputted data to your computer/mobile device and provide a password to protect the saved data. The saved form will have a file extension of “.lrwf”.  Please ensure that the file should be saved at a secure location and keep the password to yourself.

Q9: If I forgot the password of my saved draft form, what should I do?
A: You have to fill in a fresh form for online submission to the Land Registry.
Q10: Is there any time limit for completing the online form?
A: There is no time limit for completing the online form.  However, a message would be prompted to remind you to continue if the form filling session is left idle for 15 minutes.
Q11: Is it necessary to print the Acknowledgement Page?
A:

It is optional but advisable to print or save the Acknowledgement Page for future reference and communication with the Land Registry regarding the application.

 You may print the Acknowledgement Page by using the “Print” function on desktop computer or save the Acknowledgement Page by screen capture function if you are using a mobile device.

Q12: What is the processing time for online application?
A:

The processing time for each application varies depending on the type of service application.
