Application for Renewal of the Property Alert

Q1: When should I apply for renewal of the Property Alert for a selected land register?
A: If you are a current subscriber of 24 months subscription period and wish to renew the Property Alert for a selected land register, you should submit your application for service renewal to the Land Registry not less than 7 calendar days before expiry of the current subscription period. Please refer to Q4 below for details of the application procedure.
Q2: Will I receive an advance notification of the expiry of the current subscription period for a selected land register?
A: Yes. An advance notification will be emailed to you 28 calendar days before expiry of the current subscription period for a selected land register to remind you to apply for service renewal if required.
Q3: Can I apply for renewal of the Property Alert for a selected land register after expiry of the current subscription period?
A: No. Application for renewal of subscription for a selected land register must be submitted to the Land Registry before the deadline for renewal, namely, not less than 7 calendar days before expiry of the current subscription period ("renewal deadline") and the subscription fee will be charged at the rate for service renewal. Please refer to Q5 below to view the subscription fees for service renewal. After the renewal deadline for a selected land register, if you wish to subscribe to the Property Alert for that same land register again, you are required to submit a fresh application and the subscription fee will be charged at the same rate as a new application. Please refer to Q6 under "Service Details" above to view the subscription fees for a new application.
Q4: How can I renew the Property Alert for a selected land register?
A:

To renew the Property Alert for a selected land register, you have to complete an application form for subscription to the Property Alert ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) and submit the completed application form to the Land Registry by post/courier service, in person or online.

For submission by post/courier service, please submit your completed application form together with a copy of your identification document and an additional document for identity proof to our Customer Centre on 19/F, Queensway Government Offices or any of our New Territories Search Offices. You may refer to Q14 under "Application for Subscription to the Property Alert" above or the notes in the application form for subscription to the Property Alert ( PDF format )( MS Word format ) for examples of additional proof of identity.

For submission in person, please visit our Customer Centre on 19/F, Queensway Government Offices or any of our New Territories Search Offices with the completed application form and your identification document for our verification. If the application is submitted by your representative, your representative is required to produce his/her identification document for our verification together with an authorization form ( PDF format )( MS Word format ) (Annex II for an individual owner / Annex III for a corporate owner) duly signed by you. Your representative is also required to make a statutory declaration ( PDF format )( MS Word format ) (Annex IV for authorization by an individual owner / Annex V for authorization by a corporate owner) to support your application. Please note that our service hours are Mondays to Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For online application, please complete the online form and digitally sign the form by using iAM Smart+ or personal digital certificate issued by the Hongkong Post or Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited. For application by corporate owner, the completed online form should be digitally signed with the applicant's organizational digital certificate. The application should be submitted together with a copy of your identification document and an additional document for identity proof. You may refer to Q14 under "Application for Subscription to the Property Alert" above or the notes in the application form for subscription to the Property Alert ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) for examples of additional proof of identity. Please note that online application will only be accepted if it is made by the registered owner. Any application submitted by the registered owner's authorized representative will not be accepted.

 
Q5: What is the fee for renewing the Property Alert for a selected land register?

* The subscription is valid until change of property ownership thus hassle-free as there is no need to renew the Service.
Q6: If I have chosen One-off Subscription, is it not necessary for me to renew the service in future?
A:

Service renewal is not required for One-off Subscription. Please refer to Q7 under "Service Details" above for details of One-off Subscription.

Q7: If I am a subscriber of the previous e-Alert Service, can I continue to use the Verification Code in making application for service renewal?
A: If you are a subscriber of the previous e-Alert Service and a Verification Code has been assigned to you, you may continue to use the Verification Code in making application for service renewal. In case a correct and valid Verification Code is provided in the application form, your application can be sent in by post/courier service, online or through personal delivery by your representative, in which case the requirement of production of identification document, additional identity proof, authorization form and statutory declaration as mentioned above is dispensed with. 
Q8: If I am a subscriber of the previous e-Alert Service and have not applied for a Verification Code, can I submit my application for service renewal by post/courier service or online?
A: If you are a subscriber of the previous e-Alert Service but cannot provide a Verification Code in the application form, you can also send in your application for service renewal by post/courier service or online in which case you have to submit the completed application form together with a copy of your identification document and an additional document for identity proof to the Land Registry.
