Land Registry Circular Memorandum (LRCM)

Land Registry Circular Memorandum No. 3/12

13 August 2012

Double-sided Printing for Copies of Land Records Provided by the Land Registry

      To support the green objective of reducing paper consumption, the Land Registry (LR) will adopt double-sided printing from 27 August 2012 for search orders of computerized land records (including land registers, land documents, unposted memorial information and entries in Memorial Day Book) 1. The arrangement will also benefit customers as the printed documents will be less bulky and require less storage space.

Arrangement for Double-Sided Printing for Copies of Land Records

2. The double-sided printing arrangement will apply to both plain and certified copies of land records printed for all types of orders made through counter search, self-service search and Internet search (when delivery by mail or counter collection is selected).

3. Details of the arrangement of double-sided printing are as follows:

(a) Different sections of land documents (i.e. memorial form, letter of compliance, document and plan) will start on a fresh piece of paper;

(b) Copies of land registers and entries in Memorial Day Book which are currently printed in landscape mode will be bound along the short edge of the page;

(c) Copies of land documents and unposted memorial information which are currently printed in portrait mode will be bound along the long edge of the page; and

(d) For certified copies, the new security paper will have the same security pattern as the current one on both sides of the paper.

4. For land documents in the form of plans, double-sided printing will NOT be adopted. The existing sequence of printing full copy of land documents (i.e. memorial form, document and plan(s)) and the performance pledges for search services will remain unchanged.
