Contingency Service Arrangements During the World Trade Organisation Sixth Ministerial Conference (MC6)
This Circular gives notice of contingency service arrangements that will be introduced in the event that the Land Registry's customer service centre in the Queensway Government Offices (QGO) has to be closed due to events connected with the MC6 to be held in Hong Kong from 13 (Tue) to 18 (Sun) December 2005. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CIRCULAR GIVES ADVANCE NOTICE OF SUCH CONTINGENCY PLAN ONLY. WE AIM TO MAINTAIN NORMAL SERVICES. THE CONTINGENCY PLAN WILL ONLY BE ACTIVATED IF CIRCUMSTANCES WARRANT. NOTICE OF THE ACTIVATION WILL BE GIVEN THROUGH OUR WEBSITES (www.landreg.gov.hk and www.iris.gov.hk) AND THROUGH THE MEDIA.
Contingency Arrangements
2. The following service arrangements will be put in place if the customer service centre in QGO has to close : -
Registration Services
- A temporary deeds lodgement office will be set up at our Sha Tin Search Office (STSO) at 9/F., Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin, N.T. which is a short walk from the KCR Shatin Station. The service hours for delivery of deeds will be from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, but we will exercise flexibility in adjusting the service hours to meet customers' urgent needs especially if the customer service centre in QGO is closed at short notice part way through the morning.
Search Services
- Customers will still be able to conduct land searches through the Internet search services at www.iris.gov.hk.
- Counter and self-service search services will be available at our New Territories Search Offices at Tsuen Wan, Yuen Long, Sha Tin, Sai Kung, Tuen Mun, Tai Po and North districts. The search hours are from 9:00 am to 4:15 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 11:45 am on Saturday.
Owners' Corporations Services
- Owners' corporation services will be maintained at our New Territories Search Offices at Tsuen Wan, Yuen Long, Sha Tin, Sai Kung, Tuen Mun, Tai Po and North districts. The service hours are from 8:40 am to 12:40 pm and from 1:40 pm to 5:10 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday.
- Limited owners' corporation services for Hong Kong, Kowloon and Island districts will be provided at the Sha Tin Search Office. These include the filing of applications for incorporation and notices. As the owners' corporation records in respect of the Hong Kong, Kowloon and Island districts are kept in the QGO, we are unable to provide search services on these owners' corporation records.
Customer Service Hotline
- A special enquiry hotline at telephone number 2634 1185 will be set up to answer urgent enquiries from our customers during office hours.
3. Under the Contingency Service Arrangements, customers may experience longer waiting time for the required services.
