Application for Change of Account Information / Subscription Details

Q1: Can I change my account information or subscription details previously provided in the application form during the subscription period?
A: Yes. During the subscription period, you may apply to change your account information or subscription details previously provided (e.g. contact phone number, email address, email language, etc.) by completing and submitting an application form for change of particulars (PDF format)(MS Word format)(Online form) to the Land Registry. Please refer to Q2 below for details of the application procedure.
Q2: How can I change my account information or subscription details previously provided in the application form during the subscription period?
A:

To change your account information or subscription details, you have to complete an application form for change of particulars ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) and submit your completed application form by post/courier service, in person or online not less than 7 calendar days before the intended date of change specified in the form.

For application by post/courier service, please send the completed application form together with copy of your identification document and an additional document for identity proof to our Customer Centre on 19/F, Queensway Government Offices or any of our New Territories Search Offices. You may refer to Q19 under "Application for Subscription to Property Alert" above or the notes in the application form for change of particulars ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) for examples of additional document for identity proof.

For application in person, please visit our Customer Centre on 19/F, Queensway Government Offices or any of our New Territories Search Offices with the completed application form and your identification document for verification to our satisfaction. If the application is submitted by the representative of a corporate owner, the representative is required to produce his/her identification document for our verification together with a duly signed authorization form, i.e. Annex II of the application form for change of particulars ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) . The representative is also required to make a statutory declaration, i.e. Annex III of the application form ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) to support the application. Please note that our service hours are Mondays to Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (excluding public holidays).

For online application by individual owner, please complete the online form and digitally sign the form with iAM Smart+ or digital certificate issued by the Hongkong Post Certification Authority or Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited. Provision of copy of your identification document and an additional document for identity proof as stated above may be dispensed with. For online application by corporate owner, please complete the online form, digitally sign the form with your organizational digital certificate issued by the Hongkong Post Certification Authority or Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited and submit the application together with copy of your certificate of incorporation and an additional document for identity proof. You may refer to Q19 under "Application for Subscription to Property Alert" above or the notes in the application form for change of particulars ( PDF format )( MS Word format )( Online form ) for examples of additional document for identity proof.

If there is any discrepancy in the name between the proof of identity and the land register concerned or the identification document number provided is different from that contained in the registered instrument under which you acquired the property concerned, additional supporting document is required to be produced to our satisfaction.

Q3: Can I submit the completed application form for change of particulars by fax if a correct and valid Verification Code is provided in the form or copy of my identification document and an additional document for identity proof is faxed to the Land Registry together with the form?
A:

No. As original signature is required, you have to submit the completed application form (PDF format)(MS Word format) by post/courier service to "The Land Registry, 19/F, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong (Property Alert)" or submit the completed application form in person either yourself or by your representative (for corporate owner only) at our Customer Centre or any of our New Territories Search Offices. For application sent in by post, please ensure that sufficient postage is paid to avoid unsuccessful delivery. Any underpaid mails will be handled by the Hongkong Post and the Land Registry will not settle the relevant surcharge payment for underpaid mails.

You can also complete and submit the application form online. Please note that your application form should be digitally signed using iAM Smart+, the personal digital certificate (for individual owner) or the organizational digital certificate (for corporate owner) for online application.

Q4: Can I change the language for Property Alert notifications and SMS reminder during the subscription period?
A: Yes. You may apply to change the language for Property Alert notifications and SMS reminder by completing and submitting an application form for change of particulars (PDF format)(MS Word format)(Online form) to the Land Registry. The selected language will be applied to all orders under the same application.
Q5: If I did not opt to provide the Property Alert supplementary email address for my authorized recipient to receive copy of Property Alert notifications and other related correspondence from the Land Registry or a mobile phone number for receiving SMS reminder in the application form when I subscribed to the service, can I apply for them during the subscription period?
A: Yes. During the subscription period, you may apply to add the Property Alert supplementary email address and the mobile phone number by completing and submitting an application form for change of particulars (PDF format)(MS Word format)(Online form) to the Land Registry. Please refer to Q2 above for details of the application procedure.
Q6: Can I change the Property Alert email address and Property Alert supplementary email address for receiving Property Alert notifications from the Land Registry or the mobile phone number for receiving SMS reminder during the subscription period?
A: Yes. You may apply to change the Property Alert email address, Property Alert supplementary email address or the mobile phone number by completing and submitting an application form for change of particulars (PDF format)(MS Word format)(Online form) to the Land Registry. Upon updating of the information in the computer system by the Land Registry, a verification email and a verification SMS will be sent to both the new email address(es) and new mobile phone number and the previous one(s) being replaced. If you/your authorized recipient do/does not receive the verification emails and the verification SMS latest by the time of 3 calendar days after the intended date of change specified in the application form, you should immediately notify the Land Registry in writing by email, by fax or by post quoting the address of the relevant property, the Property Reference Number or the subscriber account number for a double-check.
Q7: If I submit my application for change of particulars by post/courier service, will I receive an email from the Land Registry to confirm the receipt of my application?
A: Yes. Upon receipt of your application by post/courier service, a verification email will be sent to your Property Alert email address on our record to confirm the receipt of your application for change of particulars. 
Q8: If I am a subscriber of the previous e-Alert Service, can I continue to use the Verification Code in making application for change of account information/subscription details?
A: If you are a subscriber of the previous e-Alert Service and a Verification Code has been assigned to you, you may continue to use the Verification Code in making application for change of account information/subscription details. If a correct and valid Verification Code is provided in the application form, the requirement of production of identification document, additional document for identity proof, (where applicable) authorization form and statutory declaration may be dispensed with.
