Exchange of Search Tickets

1. To enhance the security of search tickets, the Land Registry has recently revised the design of the following search tickets currently in use:
   1. L.R. 140 - HK$15 for current search
   2. L.R. 141 - HK$30 for historical and current search
   3. L.R. 146 - HK$10 for search of manual register
2. With effect from 1 April 2000, existing search tickets will be replaced by newly designed search tickets. However, as their face values have remained unchanged, the old style search tickets will continue to be accepted by the Registry for search services for a period of 3 months until 30 June 2000, after which they will become obsolete.
3. From 1 to 31 July 2000, customers who still have a stock of obsolete search tickets will be able to exchange such obsolete search tickets for the new revised search tickets at the shroff counters in the Central Search Office or at any of the 7 District Land Registries in the New Territories. During the month of July, applications for the exchange of 20 or less search tickets will be processed immediately. For applications for the exchange of over 20 search tickets, revised search tickets will be available for collection on the following working day.
4. Customers are therefore encouraged to use their stock of existing search tickets for search services as far as possible during the aforesaid 3-month period (i.e. April, May and June) in order to avoid the need to exchange old for revised search tickets at a later stage.
