Conversion of Plans of Registered Documents under Colour Imaging of Plans
The Land Registry Colour Imaging of Plans will commence operation on 15 March 2002. All the plans of registered documents will be converted into electronic colour images and stored on CD-ROMs.
For documents registered before 15 March 2002, their plans will be converted by batches on a district by district basis in the sequence set out in the Appendix. The conversion process for each batch of plans will take 8 working days (Saturdays excluded) to complete. Thus the original plans taken out for conversion will not be available for public search during the conversion process. Notice of the plans under conversion and their earliest date of availability will be displayed in the public search areas of all Land Registry search offices and published through the Direct Access Services. The whole conversion will be completed within 9 months.
In any case where there are compelling reasons for urgent access to a plan that is being converted we will endeavour to make the plan available but we cannot guarantee being able to do so.
