Together, We Fight the Virus!

In view of the latest epidemic situation, the Government announced on 30 November 2020 the implementation of special work arrangement starting from 2 December 2020. Under the special work arrangement, we continued to provide the full range of services to members of the public, albeit on a limited scale. Following the Government’s announcement on 10 February 2021 that public services would fully resume on 18 February 2021, the opening hours of all LR offices returned to normal on that day.

To align with the Government’s measure, members of the public visiting our offices are required to use the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile app before entering our offices with effect from 1 March 2021.

They are encouraged to download the app and scan the venue QR code displayed at our entrances. Persons who do not use the app will be asked to have their names, contact number and the date and time of visit recorded. The information provided will be used for facilitating the work of the Government in controlling the spread of COVID-19 and related purposes only.

In support of the Government’s COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, we promoted the Programme to our business partners and encouraged our staff to receive vaccination as early as possible to help safeguard public health and facilitate gradual resumption of normal activities of society.

As a caring organisation committed to providing equal opportunities for employees and eliminating discrimination in the workplace, the LR has participated in the Internship Scheme for Students with Disabilities organised by the Civil Service Bureau since 2016. This year, two students of the Shine Skills Centre were assigned to work as clerical interns in the Search and Departmental Services Division and General Support Services Division from 2 March 2021 to 23 April 2021.

The two interns were arranged to work under the guidance of experienced mentors for gaining hands-on experience and job-related skills in a real office setting. They were invited to share their takeaways and reflections with their mentors at the end of the internship. Both of them remarked that the work experience was very fruitful, and our colleagues have offered them valuable advice and insights regarding the real work environment.
