IT Security

The Land Registry attaches great importance to IT security. All computer systems of the Registry are designed and implemented with a high level of security protection to safeguard against unauthorized access to information stored in the systems. Regular security audits by external auditors are performed to detect possible weaknesses in security design and practices, if any. Security instructions have been promulgated for compliance by all staff within the Registry. Training designed to heighten staff awareness of the need to maintain the security of IT systems and data is organized on a regular basis.

The Land Registry will continue to make more use of IT to provide better services to customers and to improve operational efficiency. At the same time, we will maintain strict vigilance to protect our IT systems from being compromised in any manner. Specifically, we will continue to:

  • Keep abreast with the latest technological development on IT security in the market and adopt appropriate measures to protect our systems and data;

  • Ensure that all Registry staff stay vigilant in preserving information security; and

  • Put in place appropriate and adequate security protection measures when developing new IT systems.
