Land Titles Ordinance

A meeting of the Land Titles Ordinance Steering Committee was held in July 2014 to discuss the revised proposal of rectification and indemnity arrangements and conversion options for handling indeterminate ownership cases under the Two-Stage Conversion Mechanism.  For further briefing and exchange of views on the issues, the Land Registry met with the Consumer Council and Heung Yee Kuk in August and September 2014 respectively.  Subject to responses from the stakeholders, a public consultation on the proposed amendments to the Land Titles Ordinance will be launched in due course.

Integrated Registration Information System (IRIS) Enhancements

In November 2014, we launched the following enhancements to the IRIS Online Services:

i. Providing subscribers with online functions for unlocking Login ID and resetting Password

  • providing online functions of "Unlock Login ID" and "Forget Password".  The new functions enable a subscriber to unlock his/her Login ID and reset the password after having his/her identity verified by answering a preset security question;
  • providing enquiry function to view the history of using the "Unlock Login ID" or "Forget Password" functions for the past six months;
  • providing new functions for supervisory users (i.e. Login ID with supervisor privilege), including (1) to enable or disable the use of the online unlocking functions by supplementary Login ID users; (2) to lock or unlock supplementary Login ID; and (3) to view the unlocking history of all Login IDs under the same account; and
  • displaying on screen the last successful login date and time.

ii. Supporting both Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and version 6 (IPv6) Connection

  • supporting Internet connection by using IPv4 or IPv6 (ad hoc users should use IPv4 connection for online payment by credit card or PPS as the payment gateway service provider does not support IPv6 connection).
