Moving towards title registration

Hong Kong has been operating a deeds registration system since 1844. Title registration system aims to provide better assurance and greater certainty of property title and simplify conveyancing procedures. The “new land first” proposal will secure early implementation of title registration in Hong Kong, which helps enhance efficiency of property conveyancing, improve the business environment and raise Hong Kong’s competitiveness.
