The security
design of the Integrated Registration Information System
of the Land Registry has been developed based on a comprehensive
security risk assessment. The design includes measures
for all aspects of system security - authenticity, integrity,
confidentiality and availability. These are implemented
by deploying leading edge information technology. An
independent consultant will be engaged to conduct external
security audits of the system periodically. Our aim
is to ensure that our clients and customers can
- Trust the integrity of the data in the system;
- Trust the integrity of operations and use of the
data; and
- Trust that the system will be available for use
whenever it is needed.
In 2002/03, the Land Registry, with our partners and contractors,
maintained a high level of availability for existing systems.
No security breaches were recorded. No loss of data was
encountered.
